Balocchi is a painting that is part of the "Palcoscenico Italiano", a series of images that represent the behaviors and attitudes of the Italian people in a metaphorical/fabulous way.

Balocchi represents ignorance and ingenuity. A Pinocchio who bends down to pick up something but we will never know if he prefers money or culture to get back on his feet. Meanwhile others are plotting behind his back by throwing him to the highest bidder. A reality in which you can no longer trust even your conscience.
